Please recall how much health care knowledge we have learned throughout our education and growth, and how much health care knowledge we possess in our life. "Almost zero" could be the answer for many people. As a result, many people learn their health care knowledge from hearsay, newspapers, magazines and media. However, health care knowledge from these channels may not be science-based or updated. This lecture, thus, will empower people to have "science-based" health care knowledge for
individual, household or community health management.
In addition to those who live in the Western countries, in particular, Taiwan is now a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Thus, it is expected that more affordable western food and lifestyle will surge into Taiwan. As a result, people's diet and lifestyle will incline to be more westernized, which will have impact on people's health, as western diet and lifestyle are more likely to increase the risk of health problems, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, certain cancers, etc. Therefore, having science-based health care knowledge for
individual, household or community health management becomes more urgent and important.
This lecture will benefit anyone who is interested in health or who does not realize the importance of health.
