Dear Wan-Yin,
Thanks for the email.
Re: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<2pc@fym.com.tw>
This is Cheng-Dar Chung's (鍾政達) email, which is not his personal email and needs to put "Attn:
鍾政達" as he advised. I received the same permanent fatal errors message several times in the past. It's OK if emails could not be sent to him. I don't consider him an email recipient. I usually send him regular mail.
Re: <hsienbin@tit.edu.tw>...
tit.edu.tw: Name server timeout
This is Hsien-Bin Wang's (王憲斌) email at school. He also has another email
wang@123go.ws, which is already in the mailing list. Thus, he should be able to receive it.
From my previous experience, most of our classmates usually show no reaction to emails, even if an email asked for return receipt to confirm it had been received. I guess that is the way they are or it's just a culture of email. Thus, please don't feel negative should no one reply to your email.
Sincerely,
Deeng-Lih

Subject: Thanks for the message
Dear Wan-Yin,
Thanks for the message. If you can arrange, we would be more than happy to see you and your family in the next year's reunion.
By the way, biotech is currently a "hot frying" field in Taiwan. Government, industries and academic circle are all furiously frying it, even though most of what they are doing are virtually like "the new cloth of the king." If you are still interested in going back to Taiwan, I bet you and your husband may find it is not too difficult to find an academic or industrial job here. However, you may need to learn to live with the ugly politicians, ugly media and ugly living conditions, among others, in Taiwan first.
Sincerely,
Deeng-Lih

Hi, everyone,
Greetings!
I was overjoyed when I received the mail from Deeng-Lih regarding our class reunion in early November. Unfortunately, I could not participate this great event, I wish I could. And I hope that you all had a wonderful time. A big "THANK YOU" for those who spent time and effort to organize the reunion, design the web, and work behind the scenes. I can't tell you how happy I am to know updates about you all and to receive follow up email from Deeng-Lih. Please keep up the good work and let the fire going.
I guess I am one of the few from our class that stays in States. Actually, I wanted to come home (Taiwan) years ago and even applied a job with Baxter (spelling?). My father is very old and I miss him a lot. But unfortunately (or fortunately?) I got married five years ago and I just have to stay in the States. My husband, Jim, and I met when we both worked at Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company. And, after visiting Taiwan three times, Jim just doesn't think he can get a job in Taiwan. For obvious reasons, I don't blame him. Anyway, to make the long story short, I am staying home with our 3 year old son, Nathan, and driving him around here and there. For those who are fathers and mothers, you understand that kids grow up so fast and I might as well enjoy Nathan while he is still little.
We live in Gurnee, IL, which is about 1hr north of Chicago. There is a Great America - Six-Flags around the corner from our house. Sorry, we can't hear people screaming on the roller coaster. But if you are coming this way, please do stop by and stay with us for a few days.
Regards,
Wan-Yin

P.S. Thank you for the info. regarding next year reunion, I will keep it in mind. But most likely, I won't be able to attend. Jim usually takes vacation at the end of the year. However, there is always hope.
